ONCE UPON A MUSIC COMPOSITION

My name is Ezra Zerel Tan Frando, I’m fifteen, and I live in Barangay 8, Vigan City, Ilocos Sur. I was born on the 13th day of May, year 2006. I have a younger sister, Erin Zia Tan Frando, and our age gap is eleven years. I like rainy days, simple things, and the colors sky blue and grey that always calms my eyes. On the other hand, I have no interest in summers, warm colors, and luxurious things in life. I have a big fear of both needles and blood, and it doesn’t really help me specially when I get a vaccination. My hobbies are playing the ukulele, riding a penny skateboard, and playing video games. I enjoy singing and dancing most of the time, specially when I’m alone, and sometimes, music also inspires me to write my own. I am a shy and nervous person, most particularly when it’s about my talents and doing things for the first time. And in life, I just want to cherish every single moment of this wonderful gift that God had given me, enjoy all the good things I have, and make the most of my time before it’s gone.

I studied elementary from grade one to four in Vigan Nan Chong School, where I learned Chinese. My parents then decided to transfer me to Burgos Memorial School West for grades five to six, because I was getting too stressed in my Chinese class. At sixth grade, my adviser made me join journalism, copyreading and headline writing, and I won first place in Division Schools Press Conference, and I attended Regional Schools Press Conference after. I continued journalism in high school at eighth grade and won fifth place in Division Schools Press Conference this time. Ever since I was younger, I’ve always had a passion for singing and dancing. At fourth grade, I joined a Chinese singing contest in my Chinese school and I won first place. Although, as I grew older, I became more shy and didn’t bother joining more contest other than journalism itself.

“Dreams don’t work unless you do.” We have to make a move and set a goal for us to reach our dreams. It is not wrong when we try to reach the things that seems impossible to achieve. If we don’t chase our dreams, then they will not become a reality. The decision will always be on ourselves, and it is a choice whether for it to make it happen or not. My love for music is unmeasurable and my dream to be just like my favorite artists is a big dream that is far from my sight, but I won’t let that stop me from doing what I desire. You just have to stay positive, keep on chasing your dreams, never give up, and someday, you will be the one who you always wanted to be.
