Dear Santa, End This Pandemic, Please

Christmas has always been that time of the year where families come together to celebrate, feast, and have bonding time together until New Year’s Eve. It was always the happiest times of the year. Decorating the house like putting up the Christmas Tree, hanging Christmas balls and Christmas lights around it, giving and opening gifts, eating sweet ham, and other more desserts, and having the whole family on the dinner table as we wait til midnight for Christmas Eve. This was how we usually celebrated Christmas before the pandemic happened. Although, this year have gone less strict than last year since we now have the covid vaccination being implemented for everyone.

Hosting Christmas parties, Christmas caroling, going to amusement parks with Christmas decorations, and having the whole family, including the ones from other countries, come together to sit in one table to have dinner together. Family reunions are fun with games, catching up with your relatives and just spending time with them was always done every year. Well, until pandemic happened. Gatherings were prohibited so that the spreading of the corona virus would be avoided. This left us isolated in our own homes, with no visitors nor guest to celebrate with on this magical time of the year. And ever since, the main priority we have to consider now is for us to always stay safe and healthy, and not catch the deadly virus. Either way, the essence of Christmas had always been being the family being together and spending time with them. Doesn’t matter the gifts, nor your friends or relatives that are not able to come over. You can always text or call them anyway! Although you may not be with them physically, at least you’ll still be in contact with them, thanks to technology.

All things considered, the essence of Christmas is basically just spending time with your family together. Gifts, Christmas trees and decorations, are all just physical look of Christmas. Its heart would always be the warmth and love within the relationship of the family between each member. But Santa, dear Santa, end this pandemic soon, please, for the whole family will be able to be together again at once, and feel the magic of Christmas wrap them together with love.
