NEW CHAPTER OF LIFE: UNLOCKED
Everything has changed ever since the corona virus happened – that’s a hyperbole. But hey, it’s true, isn’t it? Our lifestyle has changed. Our habits has changed. Our surroundings has changed. In other words, almost everything has changed. And it all went by too fast. Atleast in my perspective, that is. It has been two years since the pandemic started; and honestly, most events I’ve been through for the last two years feels like a blur. Well, most of it I spent staying at home either way. But hey! Good news, we are finally soon going to be back to normal – except some things may be new, atleast, we can be more protected from the virus with not just a face mask or face shield, but with a COVID-19 Vaccine as well.
The
first batches of these vaccines were for adults. And they were able to continue
going to work and do other more necessary things outside of house such as buying
groceries or pay bills – electricity bills, water bills, and the like. Since
the youth didn’t have a vaccine suited for them yet, they still had to stay home
as strictly as possible. Later in the year 2021, vaccination for ages 12 to 17
were available in the Philippines. This sparked for the youth to soon enjoy the
outside world once again; going back to school, reuniting with friends, and
hanging out to places they used to go before lockdowns took place. Yet, of
course, strictly following the implemented protocols to stay safe from the
invisible enemy.
Earlier this year, around the month of February, COVID-19 Immunizations were as well available for children aged 5 to 11. Soon enough, this gave life to hope in going back to school of elementary pupils as well. However, besides all the positive hopes of having the old life we used to have to be back once again, still, there rises fears among people, specially on parents.
Despite vaccines being known as designed to protect a person from a certain disease, it also brings side effects – and by that, I don’t just hint upon the normal side effects, but also to the life threatening ones. Mild side effects of a vaccine such as fever, or redness and pain at the injection site are common and really normal. But serious side effects such as seizure or life-threatening allergic reaction, can possibly lead to death. Although, not to worry, these situations are rare to happen.
All
things considered, the COVID-19 Immunization for the youth aged five to
seventeen is important in view of the fact that this gives protection and
information for our immune system to naturally identify and kill the corona
virus as soon as possible once it enters the body of a person. So far, the
COVID-19 vaccine never had a bad record like causing death or worse conditions
on a patient. Over and above, with the help of this vaccine, we are able to
finally carry on again on the outside world and get away from getting locked
inside and stuck in the virtual world. A new chapter of our lives, unlocked: Welcome
to the New Normal!
